The Albus Design Boutique Hotel : il perfetto punto di partenza per scoprire Amsterdam

Se dovessi consigliarvi il periodo migliore in cui visitare Amsterdam probabilmente vi direi la primavera, quando le temperature cominciano a rialzarsi, la pioggia difficilmente rovinerà la vostra vacanza, le giornate si allungano e le campagne olandesi sono puntellate di meravigliosi tulipani colorati.

If I had to recommend the best time to visit Amsterdam, I would probably tell you Spring, when the temperatures begin to rise again, the rain will hardly ruin your holiday, the days are getting longer and the Dutch countryside is dotted with wonderful colored tulips.

So you could ask me … why did you choose January?

In realtà è stata una scelta di istinto; era da tanti anni che io e Nicola avevamo il desiderio di visitare la famosa Venezia del Nord; tutti ce ne parlavano estremamente bene. E così, avendo un po’ di giorni a disposizione dopo le vacanze natalizie, abbiamo finalmente optato per lei, la meravigliosa Amsterdam.

Se devo essere sincera, non mi sono affatto pentita della nostra scelta.
Credo che difficilmente si abbia la fortuna di poter girare in lungo e in largo per una capitale europea senza incorrere in innumerevoli turisti che potrebbero spesso e volentieri rovinarci i piani; si sa, troppa gente vuol dire ore di fila ad ogni museo, attrazione, ristorante, ecc… e noi non volevamo questo!
Sì, è vero, ha fatto tanto freddo e quando soffiava il vento ti entrava nelle ossa ma chi può dire di aver avuto la possibilità di vederla con la neve, la pioggia, il vento, il sole, tutto in una sola settimana? 😀

In reality it has been a choice of instinct; for many years Nicola and I had the desire to visit the famous Venice of the North; everyone talked about it extremely well. So, having a few days available after the Christmas holidays, we finally opted for it, the wonderful Amsterdam.

To be honest, I have not regretted our choice at all.
I think that it is difficult to have the good fortune to be able to travel far and wide for a European capital without incurring countless tourists who could often and willingly ruin our plans; you know, too many people mean hours in a row at every museum, attraction, restaurant, etc … and we did not want this!
Yes, it’s true, it was so cold and when the wind blew it came into your bones but who can say to have had the chance to see it with the snow, the rain, the wind, the sun, all in one week? : D

La nostra Suite dall’arredamento ricercato era collocata al settimo piano
e ci ha fatto sentire “at home away from home”.
Un letto ampio e comodo nel centro della camera; un angolo salotto con divano, poltrona e tavolino;
una scrivania per invogliarmi a lavorare ed un fantastico dispenser di Heineken, la principale birra di Amsterdam;
per rendere il tutto più speciale, un luminosissimo bagno con sanitari di design,
una doccia enorme ed una bellissima vasca ovale dove rilassarsi alla fine
delle nostre giornate esplorative per le vie della città.

Our sophisticatedly furnished suite was located on the seventh floor
and made us feel “at home away from home”.
A large and comfortable bed in the center of the room; a sitting corner with sofa, armchair and tea table;
a desk to make me want to work and a fantastic Heineken dispenser, the main beer in Amsterdam;
to make everything more special, a bright bathroom with designer bathroom fixtures,
a huge shower and a beautiful oval bathtub where we could relax at the end
of our exploratory days through the streets of the city.

Due gli aspetti che mi hanno piacevolmente colpita.

Innanzitutto, la prima colazione è servita nel ristorante dell’Albus hotel, il Senses Restaurant, fino alle 10.30 durante il weekend; una cosa assolutamente da non sottovalutare quando si passa tutto il giorno fuori, in giro per la città.
 Il buffet è composto da una varietà di prodotti locali e biologici; non c’è niente di meglio che iniziare la giornata con un abbondante breakfast; cappuccino e cornetto, yogurt e cereali, pancake fatti in casa con la nutella, uova fritte al momento con bacon: la mia scelta giornaliera! Esagerata? Non si è mai troppo pieni per assaporare le prelibatezze mattutine.

Two aspects that have pleasantly impressed me.

First of all, breakfast is served in the Albus hotel restaurant, Senses Restaurant, until 10.30 am on weekends; something absolutely not to be underestimated when you spend all day outside, around the city.
The buffet consists of a variety of local and organic products; there is nothing better than starting the day with a hearty breakfast; cappuccino and croissant, yogurt and cereals, homemade pancakes with nutella, fried eggs at the moment with bacon: my daily choice! Exaggerated? You are never too full to savor the morning delicacies.

Seconda cosa, l’hotel dà la possibilità di fare il late check-out alle 14:00 per godersi un po’ di più Amsterdam senza il pensiero dei bagagli; purtroppo io non ho potuto approfittarne poichè il mio volo di ritorno era di mattina.

“Ma allora questo hotel dovrà pure avere un difetto!
Sicuramente sarà in una brutta zona!”

Secondly, the hotel gives the possibility to do a late check-out at 2:00 p.m. to enjoy a little more Amsterdam without the thought of luggage; unfortunately I could not take advantage of it because my return flight was in the morning.

“But this hotel must have a flaw!
Surely it will be in a bad area! “

Ed è qui che volevo arrivare, il The Albus Design Boutique Hotel è talmente perfetto che si trova in uno dei quartieri migliori della città; come vi dicevo è in pieno centro e perfettamente collegato ai maggiori punti di interesse di Amsterdam.
Con il tram o a piedi, in pochissimo tempo si raggiungono Piazza Dam, la Centraal Station, Museumstraat, …

Insomma, non vi resta che prenotare e provarlo di persona.
Vi garantisco che non ve ne pentirete e non vorrete più tornare a casa!

And it is here that I wanted to arrive! The Albus Design Boutique Hotel is so perfect that it is located in one of the best neighborhoods of the city; as I said, it is right in the center and perfectly connected to the main points of interest in Amsterdam.
By tram or on foot, in no time you can reach Dam Square, Centraal Station, Museumstraat, …

In short, you just have to book and try it in person.
I guarantee you will not regret it and you will never want to go home!
